M.P. Shah Hospital Marks International Women’s Day
Selfies of people crossing their arms to strike an “x” pose on social media show solidarity with the theme of International Women’s Day 2022. This year’s campaign theme— #BreaktheBias —spotlighted the individual and collective biases against women that fuel gender inequality.
“Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead,” the International Women’s Day website reads. “Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field.”
The M.P. Shah Hospital marked this day by highlighting the various achievements of women as well as reaffirming its commitment towards gender equality and women empowerment. In her speech, CEO Dr. Toseef Din stated that the Hospital is committed to empowering women to become key decision makers in matters affecting the society.
Other activities for marking International Women’s Day included virtual discussions on breaking the bias and visits to female patients who were also gifted as a way of celebration.
