WEIGHT LOSS PROCEDURES

A Glimpse

Gastric bypass and other weight-loss surgeries or procedures, known collectively as bariatric surgery, involve changing your digestive system to help you lose weight.

A weight loss procedure is done when diet and exercise haven’t worked or when one has serious health problems because of your weight.

Why it is done?

Weight loss surgery is done to help clients lose excess weight and reduce the risk of potentially life-threatening weight-related health problems, including:

  1. Heart disease and stroke
  2. High blood pressure
  3. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)
  4. Sleep apnea
  5. Type 2 diabetes

Who it’s for?

In general, weight loss surgery could be an option for you if:

  1. Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or higher, called extreme obesity.
  2. Your BMI is 35 to 39.9, called obesity, and you have a serious weight-related health problem, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or severe sleep apnea.
  3. You may qualify for certain weight-loss surgeries if your BMI is 30 to 34 and you have serious weight-related health problems.

We offer:

  2. Sleeve gastrectomy
  3. Gastric band
